I Thought He Didn’t Care …Then I Accidently Found the Truth
I spent months saving to buy my husband his dream watch for our 10th anniversary. When the day came, he handed me cheap perfume in a plastic bottle.
I was furious.
I tossed it aside and never used it. Three weeks later, he died suddenly in a car accident.
For a month, I could barely get out of bed. Today was the first day I felt strong enough to clean our room. As I moved things around, the perfume bottle fell. The lid popped off.
I froze.
Inside was a ring.
Not just any ring—my dream diamond. The one I’d admired when we were newlyweds. The one he promised he’d buy me someday. I’d forgotten about it.
He hadn’t.
Knowing him, I understood immediately. He loved surprises. He believed gifts should be discovered, hidden until the right moment. This time, I found it too late.
I’ll never be able to thank him.
Now I wear the ring as a symbol of us. When I look at it, I feel him close.
I just wish that on our last anniversary, instead of anger, I had chosen kindness. If I had known what he was planning… it would have changed everything.
If only we could turn back time.
