This is a very simple, no-bake recipe which is a yummy twist on the classic rice krispy treats that I’m sure you’ve had before. Introducing Strawberry Rice Krispy Treats with the secret ingredient being strawberry jelly mix. It is perfect as a treat and a lovely party food especially with the bright pink colour its perfect for either a little girls birthday, a baby shower or even valentines day! Prep is only 10 mins. (Cooling and setting will take approx 4 hours)
8 Cups of rice Krispies
1 large bag of mini marshmallows
1 Sachet of strawberry jelly mix
1/2 cup of butter
1 tsp vanilla (optional)
For the extra pink colour in my Strawberry Rice Krispy Treats I used only pink marshmallows. For a less pink colour you could use plain white marshmallows (the strawberry jelly mix will still give it a tinge of pink) or maybe switch out the strawberry jelly mix for a different flavour if you’re not a fan of strawberry. This recipe if very versatile so you can have lots of fun with it!
Method: Line an square pan with baking paper and lightly grease with butter or cooking spray. In a large sauce pan, melt the butter and marshmallows over medium heat.
Once the marshmallows have completely melted and there are no lumps, stir in the strawberry jelly mix then finally remove the pan from the heat and slowly fold in Rice Krispies.
When the Rice Krispies are evenly coated spoon the mixture onto the lined pan and press down to pack it in. Leave to set in the fridge for approx 4 hours or over night. Cut into square pieces and Enjoy!
