Some parents run a tight ship, I run a pirate ship.
There is some swearing, some drinking, and some mutiny from the tiny raiders I produced!
I like to think I’m very laid back and a very relaxed, carefree Mum. I like to think I have it all under control and that I am the one in charge. However reality is this pirate ship is sinking. I have mini raiders running rings around me daily. There is daily chaos and very little routine. Without sounding like a ship wreck, there is an occassional glass of wine to help after a particularly stressful day, and a fair bit of swearing. (Not in front of the kids though of course)
I love my angels because I produced them and they are little bits of me. But like all kids they rarely listen to me so I’m forever shouting at them to listen while they run riot, clearly with no intention of listening. Of course I shouldn’t complain because also like me they are very strong willed and I guess they get it from me. Sometimes I wish I had this more ship shape.
