Sage – This amazing herb has been said to be brilliant for boosting memory, knowledge and overall brain power. It can also be used to improve oral health and can treat mouth ulcers and reduce the risk of gum disease.

To make a sage mouth was is simple. Simmer a few sage leaves in boiling water for a few minutes. Leave to cool then strain and use the sage water as you would a mouthwash.

As always, fresh is best. So opt for freshly picked leaves rather than dried store bought basil. As sadly all the benefits can be lost in the drying process.

Mint – mint is excellent for the digestive system and is known to relieve bloating, nausea and in some cases soothe pain related to IBS. All you need to do is add a good handful of mint leaves to freshly boiled water in a mug and leave to soak for 5 minutes.

Lavender – of course this is widely known for its calming influences and has been used for centuries to help beat insomnia and anxiety. Not only can you put the in your room for a good night’s sleep, but also add to a warm bath for a relaxing experience.

Plus, why not try drying them out and adding the flower part to your hot tea, for a stress relieving herbal drink.
