1. Use salt to avoid cracked hard-boiled eggs.
All you need to do is add a heaped tablespoon of salt to the boiling water before adding the eggs, and it will stop any cracks and give you the perfect boiled egg.

2. Aspirin keeps roses from wilting.
Roses are beautiful and so of course you want to keep them alive for as long as possible. To get roses to last twice as long as usual simply drop half an aspirin into the water in the vase and let it dissolve. Arrange the roses and enjoy!

3. Relieve itchy bites with a potato.
A brilliant old wives tale is to use a potato for any bites. Surprisingly there is something in the potato that helps keep the swelling to a minimum and soothes inflammation.

4. Dissolve stains by adding salt straight away.
Drop something on your top while you are out? No problem, just grab some salt and sprinkle it on the stain straight away. It will help absorb the mess and therefore limits staining.

5. Get rid of hand stains with lemon.
Are your hands stained from Beets or Berries? Often using a hand soap can just make the stain worse and spread it further. Use half a lemon and rub it on the area to easily get rid of any discolouring.

 6. Slice bread perfectly using a hot knife.
To stop that pesky bread from crumbling every time you cut into a slice all you have to do is warm up your knife. Just get a pan of boiling water and dip your knife in for a minute then remove. Be sure to wipe off any water, and cut away.

7.Use baking soda to clean stains in cups/mugs
Simply get some baking soda on a sponge and start wiping. It’s as easy as that, the stain will be gone. For more stubborn stains just scrub well.

8. Save burnt pots with salt water.
We have all forgotten about a pan on the boil and come back to a burnt mess at the bottom. But don’t panic, all is not lost. Just fill the pot back up with water, then sprinkle in a generous helping of salt. Leave it to boil for 20 minutes and the burnt parts will lift.

9.Grabbing Broken Egg Shells
Guaranteed every time you crack an egg a bit of shell drops in. Removing it with a spoon is the most frustrating task. So ditch the spoon and instead dip your fingers in cold water. You’ll then be able to push your finger right into the bowl of eggs and grab the broken eggshell with little hassle.
