Grandma Escapes From Retirement Home To Get Tattoo

When Tony Sellers came to visit his mother at her retirement home in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, she was nowhere to be found.

Sadie Sellers, a 79-year-old grandmother of 11, had escaped to get her first tattoo with her great-granddaughter, Samantha.

She opted for a little heart on her shoulder and thankfully she didn’t mind the pain at all. “I asked the fella how long it would take and he said it had finished five minutes ago. I never felt a thing,” the Grandmother said later.

Son Tony recounts, “I just couldn’t believe it. I went in all I saw was three big lads in their 20s, covered in tattoos, and there in the middle was mum getting one herself”

“She’s normally very prim and proper but she does sometimes swear like a sailor behind closed doors”

It just so happens, this is the second time Sellers has gone AWOL from the home, both times with her great-granddaughter. It seems like they have a great relationship, and both share the same rebellious streak.

Sellers said,“When you get to my age, you just have to live life to the full every day”

What a fantastic motto to live by. We wish her many many more years of happiness and health.
