1.Netflix was founded before google. Yep you read that right. Despite the increase of popularity over the past couple of years, NETFLIX (the online movie and tv show streaming service) was first released on August 29th, 1997. This date is over a year before Google first launched in September 1998.
2.Female dragon flies fake being dead in order to stop unwanted male attention. Who knew it is not just possums that play dead. If a female isn’t interested she will drop down as if she’s dead, and play dead until he has disappeared.
3.More people die from vending machine related injuries than shark attacks. While obviously it is more likely you’d encounter a vending machine on your travels rather than a shark, did you know vending machines kill 4 times as many people per year as sharks.
4.There are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on the earth, and there are more atoms in a grain of sand than there are stars in the universe. This fact literally puts the who universe into perspective and just goes to show how much more space is out there that we’re likely never to know about in our life time.
5.Oxford university was founded before the Aztec empire. Don’t believe us? Oxford University is 200 years older than the Aztecs and even 300 years older than Machu Picchu.
6. Giraffes eat bones. While giraffes are herbivores and generally live off of the leaves and twigs, in the wild they can be spotted hewing on the bones of dead animals. This is to help them get the vitamins in which they lack from their leafy diet.
7.People were on the moon before they put wheels on suitcases. The space race started in the 1960’s however travelling by plane for most was an extreme luxury. So suitcases were not fitted with wheels for more ease until the 1970’s when air travel become more popular.
8.Cheetahs can’t roar. While big cats like ions, tigers, leopards, and jaguars can roar, cheetahs can only meow like domestic house cats due to having a different voicebox.
9.Anne Frank, Martin Luther King Jr., and Barbara Walters were all born in the same year. Anne Frank was born June 12, 1929. Martin Luther King Jr. was born January 15, 1929. And Barbara Walters was born September 25, 1929.
10. Cleopatra lived closer to the invention of the iPhone than she did to the building of the Great Pyramid. Cleopatra was born about 2421 years later than pyramids in 69 B.C. She died at the age of 39 in 30 B.C. The first iPhone was released in 2007, only 2037 years after Cleopatra’s death.
