Savannah, the dog’s owner, shared on TikTok that her puppy began whining at her car early one morning around 6 a.m. Concerned, she and her partner checked under the hood but didn’t see anything unusual. Still, the dog wouldn’t stop whining.
Trusting her pup’s instincts, Savannah decided to spray under the car’s hood with a hose — and that’s when something darted out. It was a tiny stray kitten, hidden in the engine compartment.
Thanks to her dog’s sharp instincts, the kitten was rescued just in time. Fortunately, the little one was in good hands — Savannah is no stranger to caring for animals. In fact, she shared in the video, “This is the third baby animal I’ve found in 35 days. It feels like a joke at this point.”
Though the kitten was initially “spicy” and hissed at her, he soon warmed up. Savannah didn’t keep him, though. Her friend Cody offered to give the kitten a forever home.
In a touching twist of fate, Savannah had just said goodbye to her own cat a month earlier. So when she handed the kitten over, she sent him off with all her leftover cat food and supplies.
“I’m happy I have someone to share those things with,” she wrote. “I wish you happiness in your new home, and I’m really glad you picked my car to hide in.”
This little kitten was lucky — and thanks to one intuitive pup and a compassionate human, he now has a second chance at life.
