Desk From 1965 With ‘Benny + Linda’ Carving Prompts Sweet Response

A museum in Indiana shared a photo of a desk from 1965. And folks went crazy when ‘Benny’ the author of the inscription showed up in the comments and gave an update on the relationship behind the “Benny + Linda” engraving.

The museum shared a photo of the auditorium seats on Facebook. And one image called special attention to a sweet engraving on the arm of one chair. They captioned the photo ‘This weekend John Charles Bryant donated two South Bend Central High School auditorium seats to The History Museum. Benny and Linda, are you still together? Let us know!”

But nobody was expecting such an amazing response. After 56 years its fair to say anything could have happened to the pair.

The once young teen called Benny is now a man who goes by Ben, replied with this…

“Yes I carved that sitting in the auditorium of Central High School my freshman year before leaving for LaSalle. Linda I are still together after having three wonderful girls and 50 years of marriage. Told my friends in fourth grade I was going to marry Linda and here we are heading for 51 years together on August 1. Smartest thing I ever did in my life was marry this kind and pretty lady. Thanks for sharing.”

It goes to prove true love does exist and that happy endings are not just fairy tales you read about in books.
